A warning from Yavapai County Community Health Services for anyone with Country Eggs Brown Cage-Free Sunshine Yolks. The company is recalling the product due to potential salmonella contamination. The recalled cartons were sold under the names Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho, and Nijiya Markets, with sell-by dates ranging from July 1 to September 18. Bulk packs for food service were also affected.
At least 92 cases of illness have been reported, though no deaths. Salmonella can cause serious health issues, especially for children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.
Production has been halted while the FDA and Country Eggs continue their investigation. Consumers are urged to return the product to the store where they purchased it from or just throw it out.
