The Chino Valley volleyball team rolled over Apache Junction in the opening set of Wednesday’s match, crushing the Lady Prospectors 25-10. After that, the sets became more challenging. The Lady Cougars got the win in set two 25-18. A communication breakdown cost Chino the third set as they lost to AJ 25-16. Then came the fourth set, and both teams traded points from start to finish. The Lady Cougars, however, eked out the 26-24 win to secure a 3-1 match victory.
Addison Afman recorded 13 kills. Avery Bradshaw posted 26 assists. Lilliana Rodriguez made 18 digs. Peytan Granillo had a heck of a night serving as she dropped in nine aces. Jayden Vander Molen put up three blocks and five kills.
The Lady Cougars are now 1-1 on the season. They are back on the court tonight when they host Camp Verde.
