Changes Could be Coming to Prescott Elections

The possible conduct of future city elections was the first subject of Tuesday’s Prescott City Council study session. The question was how ballots should be counted. Should it be changed to mirror the state statute or should it remain the way it is and maybe clarify the language used when it comes to multi-seat elections?

After a presentation to the council, Mayor Phil Goode called for a poll :

The final poll was 3-2 in favor of adopting the state statute with Councilman Montoya and Councilman Grady absent. This will come back to the council for an official vote and then likely to the voters for a final say.
