Yavapai County Reacts to Charlie Kirk Assassination

The founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated yesterday at an event at Utah Valley University. Kirk was known for his appearances at college campuses all over the country, having discussions with students from every background and conducting civil debate on a variety of difficult issues.

Yavapai County Sheriff David Rhodes posted on Facebook following the report of the shooting, “The shooting at Utah Valley University is deeply troubling, and our hearts are with Charlie Kirk and all who were impacted. Violence has no place in our communities or public discourse.


“As sheriff—I condemn this political violence in the strongest terms and the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office stands united against it.


“I have full confidence Utah law enforcement will hold those responsible accountable.”
