Prescott Valley Library Gets Several Grants

The Prescott Valley Public Library received several federal grants totaling more than $58,000 to expand community programs and services.

Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the grants will support writing workshops, historical programs, social services, and homeschooling resources.

Highlights include a “Writers in Residence” grant bringing in author Kim Tomsic to lead youth workshops, and an “America 250” grant to launch history-themed events for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

More than $42,000 will go toward a part-time community resource specialist to provide onsite social services. An additional $7,000 will pay for a staff training day focused on service and innovation, and the development of education kits for homeschooling families.
