Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies and Prescott Valley police officers arrested a man who reportedly sped down Highway 89-A in excess of 100 miles per hour.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the chase occurred early Thursday morning. As deputies caught up to the driver, he slowed down but would not pull over. The driver then began swerving as deputies reported the man was recording the chase on a social media app.
He then sped up, but the Sheriff’s Office and Prescott Valley PD caught up to him and stopped him. The driver, 37-year-old Luis Perez, was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with unlawful means of transportation, aggravated DUI, and open container in a motor vehicle.
