Following a series of recent accidents, the Prescott Fire Department is urging drivers to use extra caution when entering roundabouts. Fire officials say multiple crashes have occurred in local roundabouts in recent weeks — many of them caused by speeding or failure to yield.
The Prescott Fire Department has these tips for drivers to avoid future accidents at roundabouts: first, slow down as you approach. Be sure to yield to traffic already inside the roundabout, and merge only when it’s safe.
You should also signal when exiting the roundabout, and stay in your lane without changing inside the circle.
Prescott fire officials say following these simple steps can dramatically reduce the risk of accidents and keep traffic flowing safely through the city’s roundabouts.
