The Prescott Public Library has new devices to help those unable to communicate verbally. AAC iPads can be checked out at the youth desk. The augmentative and alternative communication iPads are equipped with two apps, TouchChat and LAMP Words for Life, which are designed to help non-verbal individuals express themselves.
The apps provide touch-based communication boards, customized vocabulary options, and voice output features, making it easier for users to share their thoughts, needs, and emotions.
The iPads are useful for people of all ages facing speech challenges due to autism, stroke, or other conditions.
