Yavapai County Community Health Services is reporting Tru Fru has announced a voluntary recall of select freeze-dried strawberry products after reports of metal found in the food. The affected items, dipped in dark and white chocolate or strawberries & crème, were manufactured by Georgia Nut Company.
The recall covers products sold nationwide at stores including Target, CVS, and Kroger. The company warns that hard or sharp objects in food could lead to serious injuries, including cuts to the mouth and damage to internal organs.
No injuries have been reported so far. The issue came to light after a customer alerted the company. Consumers are advised to check packaging details online and discard or return the impacted products.
