Fain Signature Group and Asphalt Paving and Supply are requesting a zoning change to open a rock harvest site on forty acres of vacant land southwest of Prescott Valley.
The property sits about one-and-a-half miles south of Old Black Canyon Highway and three miles west of Highway 69 and Bradshaw Mountain Road. It’s currently zoned for low-density single-family housing under the town’s 2035 General Plan.
The developers want to rezone the land for general industrial use. If approved, the site would be used to extract hard rock aggregates for local roads, highways, and construction projects.
Town residents will have a chance to learn more and offer input during a virtual neighborhood meeting on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m.
The town of Prescott Valley has not yet scheduled formal hearings with the Planning and Zoning Commission or Town Council. Those dates will be announced later.
