How to Best Use State Money for Rodeo Improvements

There are quite a few improvements the City of Prescott can make to the rodeo grounds with the 15 million dollars of state money it received earlier this year. That was discussed at Tuesday’s City Council study session.

Public Works Director Gwen Rowitsch pointed out the water system is a top priority:

Other possible improvements include a new announcer stand and suite seating structure, which could cost between 400 to 500 thousand dollars, and replacing the battery backups for emergency lighting at a cost of 20 to 25 thousand dollars. The horse statue at the old City Hall could be moved to the rodeo grounds at a cost of $200,000.
