A motorcyclist was seriously injured last Wednesday night after apparently colliding with a javelina on Cornville Road. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to the crash near East Kimberleys Way just after 8:30 p.m.
After rendering emergency aid to the rider, he was airlifted to a hospital in Flagstaff. Investigators say a witness saw a javelina run into the road. The rider tried to avoid it but struck the animal, causing him to lose control and crash.
The Sheriff’s Office remind drivers that wildlife encounters are common in rural areas, especially after dark. They urge everyone to stay alert, slow down, and scan roadsides for unpredictable animals.
