The Prescott flag football team has spent most of this season hanging goose eggs on their opponent’s side of the scoreboard. But on Monday, the tables got turned on the Lady Badgers as Coconino shut them out in the first half, getting the 14-0 advantage over them. The Prescott defense stood strong in the second half, keeping the Lady Panthers out of the end zone.
Then in the final minutes of regulation, Rylee Hart chucked two touchdown passes to “The Blue Bandit” Maggie Maneely, the second one to tie the score with just seconds to go. In the waning seconds, Maneely got an interception, and thanks to a penalty by the Lady Panthers, got the ball to the 32-yard line. Hart found Maneely again, who took it to the house as the clock hit zero to give Prescott the 20-14 win.
The Lady Badgers are now 10-2 overall on the season.
