The City of Prescott is hitting the pause button on the proposed Highway 89 project.
After listening to residents’ concerns at recent public hearings and an open house, Mayor Phil Goode has decided to delay a vote on the effluent and wastewater improvement project for the highway. The city had been set to vote on a final design contract this month. Instead, that decision will wait until a new city council is sworn in.
City officials say this short pause will allow for fresh perspectives and more community dialogue on a project that could have long-term impacts on Prescott’s future.
