Two ERAU Athletes Receive Player of the Week Honors

Their accomplishments got these two Embry-Riddle athletes some nice honors. Soccer’s Jamie Brandon and volleyball’s Anela Chew were named the Great Southwest Athletic Conference Players of the Week for their respective sports.

Brandon registered two goals and two assists in the Lady Eagles’ 5-0 triumph over Arizona Christian last Saturday. She also scored versus Ottawa last Thursday. “Brando” has 13 goals on the season, putting her at number two in the GSAC. She also has five assists.

Chew, meanwhile, played a big role in the Embry-Riddle volleyball team’s 3-2 come-from-behind win over La Sierra last Tuesday with 18 kills. “The A-Bomb” followed that up with 15 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Park University. For the season, Chew has 166 kills.

Brandon and the number eight ranked women’s soccer team are back in action tonight at Benedictine-Mesa. Chew and the Riddle volleyball team are at Life Pacific tomorrow.
