They were down 19-7, and also lost their top running back Jacob Chamberlain to an injury. But the Prescott football team overcame that adversity, chipped away at Youngker’s lead, and took a 22-19 lead midway through the fourth quarter. The Roughriders, however, scored later in the quarter and held on to hand the Badgers a 26-22 loss in a penalty-filled game Friday.
Defensive end Rutger Funk tells The News:
Chamberlain and Trace Overton both had rushing touchdowns. Brady Costas kicked two field goals, including one that bounced off the crossbar and through the uprights. Gunnar Parra recorded a sack, Menno Dow had a fumble recovery, and Kenny Miller-Terry snagged an interception.
Prescott is now 4-5 on the season.
