The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon near Del Rio Drive and State Route 260 in Cottonwood.
Deputies responded around 3:20 p.m., where medical crews were performing life-saving measures on a man. He was taken to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Investigators say the incident started when the victim and 53-year-old Henry Greer of Cottonwood parked next to each other. After exiting their vehicles, a physical fight broke out. During the altercation, Greer allegedly pulled a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting the victim twice.
Greer was arrested for first-degree homicide. The case remains under investigation.
