Delia Ceballos Munoz Receives Sharlot Hall Award

Prescott’s Sharlot Hall Museum has named Delia Ceballos Muñoz as this year’s recipient of its prestigious Sharlot Hall Award. The honor was presented November 7th at the Prescott Corral of Westerners meeting.

Muñoz, a third-generation Ceballos from Flagstaff, spent three decades at NAU’s Cline Library, championing historical preservation across Northern Arizona. She helped launch an oral history project in 1997 documenting stories from underrepresented communities. That collection now includes over 70 interviews.

Stuart Rosebrook, executive director of the museum, praised Muñoz for embodying the spirit of the award’s namesake, Sharlot Hall, the first woman to hold public office in Arizona Territory.
