Quite a few local collegiate athletes took home all-conference honors. The Embry-Riddle men’s soccer team had a trio of players make the All-GSAC team. They are Nitai Bental, Francesco Busini, and Ravi Holliday. Bental, a native of Shoham, Israel, recorded eleven goals and two assists; Busini, a Rome native, posted five assists and was a key player on the Eagles’ defense. Holliday, a Chino Valley grad, played solid “D” for Riddle.
The Embry-Riddle volleyball team had just one player make the All-GSAC team. Emma Barber notched 284 kills and 225 digs, and finished her college career in the 1,000/1,000 club.
The Yavapai College volleyball team had two players on the All-Region second team. McKenzie Wright registered 498 assists, 209 digs, and 24 aces. Jezebel Rivas made 316 digs and served 14 aces.
