It’s something of a reunion in the opening round of the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Tournament. Two former Cal Pac Conference rivals face off in Prescott tomorrow as number seven ranked Embry-Riddle hosts number 25 Westcliff.
The Lady Warriors dominated the Cal Pac Tournament, scoring ten goals in their wins over Pacific Union and Simpson to claim the conference title. Westcliff is led by Conference Player of the Year Jordyn Gather, a defender with nine goals and eleven assists. There’s also Cal Pac Offensive Player of the Year Bella Tolentino, who’s recorded 17 goals.
Riddle, 17-0-3 on the season, has the Jamies – Brandon and Black – who have combined for 30 goals this season. They also have Aubrie Dupre in goal, who carries a 0.58 goals-against average.
Tomorrow’s national tournament game takes place at 1 p.m. on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
