All the rain we got over the past week made quite a dent in Yavapai County’s drought conditions. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, the eastern part of the county is no longer in drought. Central Yavapai County is abnormally dry, and the western half of the county is in moderate drought.
As for the rest of the state, roughly three-quarters of Arizona is in either moderate drought or abnormally dry. Much of eastern Arizona is in severe drought.
Because of the current drought conditions, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is low. Still, everyone is urged to be careful with anything that can produce a flame or a spark in order to prevent a wildfire from breaking out.
