Yavapai County Community Health Services reports Prime Food Processing has issued a voluntary recall of more than two thousand cases of dessert buns due to undeclared milk allergens.
The Brooklyn-based company announced that two varieties — Lava Bun with Salted Egg Yolk and Lava Bun with Green Tea Flavor — contain milk derived from butter, which was not included in the allergen statement. The products were distributed to Asian grocery stores in Yavapai County, as well as 34 other states, between April and mid-November.
No illnesses have been reported, but people with a milk allergy could face a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat these buns.
Consumers are urged to return the uneaten products and packaging to the place of purchase for a full refund, or just throw them out.
