Drivers traveling along Willow Creek Road in Prescott last week may have noticed an increase in law enforcement activity. The Prescott Police Department, Prescott Valley Police Department, and Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office launched a joint operation aimed at reducing speeding and other hazardous driving behaviors.
As part of the Tri-City Task Force, officers focused their efforts on Willow Creek Road, which is a well-known area for traffic violations. During the operation, a total of 105 traffic stops were conducted. Those stops resulted in 69 speeding citations, including three for excessive speeding, with a top speed of 70 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone.
Police officials say the operation highlights the continued need for education and enforcement in the area. They emphasize that speeding continues to be a significant safety concern, and efforts will remain in place to educate drivers and enforce traffic laws.
The initiative is supported by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, which provides grants to help local agencies address speeding and improve overall roadway safety. As part of the ongoing effort to reduce dangerous driving behaviors, police officials are urging drivers to slow down, stay alert, and help keep the community safe.
