Sixteen new firefighters are ready to serve our community after a heartfelt graduation ceremony Wednesday night in Prescott.
The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority, CAFMA, and the Prescott Fire Department welcomed seven new CAFMA firefighters and nine for PFD during the event at Yavapai College’s Jim and Linda Lee Performing Arts Center.
Prescott Fire Chief Holger Durre swore in his department’s nine, while CAFMA Fire Chief John Feddema administered the oath to the seven joining CAFMA.
PFD recruit Devon Zwiener earned the top recruit award for outstanding leadership and performance.
The graduates completed months of rigorous training through the joint CAFMA-PFD academy.
Chief Durre said he is incredibly proud, calling their dedication and resilience exceptional. CAFMA Chief Feddema added it is a privilege to honor them, noting they have grown into capable firefighters.
