Local Law Enforcement Conduct DUI Patrols

The Prescott Police Department, Prescott Valley Police Department, Chino Valley Police Department, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, and the Department of Public Safety conducted a Tri-City DUI enforcement detail last Saturday. The detail comes as part of the DUI Task Force and was funded using a grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

The detail resulted in 82 traffic stops and nine arrests for driving impaired. Police officials say one arrest involved an aggravated felony DUI related to a hit-and-run. They add another driver was arrested for a super extreme DUI. That driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.230, which is more than two times the legal limit. Police officials urge drivers to maintain safe practices when driving during the holiday season.
