AI Data Center Could be Coming to Camp Verde

A potential AI data center could be coming to Camp Verde.

Utah-based BluSky AI — no connection to the Bluesky social media app — plans a modular data center in Yavapai County. In a September interview with Data Center Dynamics, CEO Trent D’Ambrosio showed a map highlighting Camp Verde as a site with about four megawatts of planned capacity. The company builds prefab units that assemble quickly — under 18 months — using high-end Nvidia graphics processors for AI computing.

Last July, BluSky signed a non-binding letter to buy a 15-acre industrial site in Camp Verde, with existing power expandable to around 3.75 megawatts. The company sees it as a boost for fast AI tasks in healthcare and manufacturing.

BluSky focuses on sites with green or efficient energy sources, though specifics for Camp Verde remain undisclosed. No exact site address has been released.

As of late December, the Town of Camp Verde and Yavapai County report no applications filed. Officials noted an earlier anonymous zoning inquiry, likely from BluSky.

Residents have raised questions on social media about energy and water use, as well as noise. The project remains in early planning stages, with no firm timelines beyond the initial announcement.
