BMHS Girls Soccer Edged Out by Mingus

The Bradshaw Mountain girls soccer team could not have been more shorthanded than they were for this game. Due to injuries and other issues, they went up to Cottonwood with only five varsity starters and a host of JV players to fill in the gaps. But if Mingus thought this would be a cakewalk, they had another thing coming. Kyomi Enriquez notched a goal in the first half, and the Lady Bears’ defense held down the Lady Marauders.

In the second half, Mingus scored twice, only to have Enriquez get the equalizer with ten minutes left in regulation. Both sides were 90 seconds away from overtime when the Lady Marauders got the go-ahead goal and held on to beat Bradshaw 3-2.

The loss puts the Lady Bears’ record at 3-5-2 on the season. After three straight road games, Bradshaw Mountain is home Tuesday versus Mohave.
