Everything came together for the Prescott wrestling team at the West Valley Invitational over the weekend. The Badgers finished in fifth place, with the bulk of their lineup making the podium.
Leading the way was Jonah Gann, the champion at 165 pounds. Dayton Shelton finished second at 138 pounds. Cash Kasun came in third at 113 pounds. Fourth-place finishes went to Noah Smith at 175 pounds and Eli Allen at 215 pounds. Two others finished in fifth place, Logan Archer at 132 pounds and James Fortner at 165 pounds. Sixth-place finishes went to River Vinett at 144 pounds, Julian Meda at 190 pounds, and Dexter Hewitt at heavyweight.
The Prescott girls were also in action over the weekend at the Rumble on the Rim. Gianna May finished second at 120 pounds and was also named the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler. Briley Ricketts was also second at 107 pounds, and Natalie Nyysti finished fourth at 165 pounds.
