Cottonwood police are investigating a serious motorcycle collision that happened Sunday night at Highway 260 and Fir Street.
Officers responded just after 7 p.m. to a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. A 56-year-old female rider suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a Phoenix-area hospital, where she is now listed in stable condition. The 19-year-old male driver of the vehicle was also taken to Verde Valley Medical Center as a precaution.
Investigators say the motorcycle was heading east on Highway 260 when the vehicle turned left onto Fir Street, colliding with the bike in the intersection. The roadway was closed in both directions for several hours.
Police are still looking into the crash. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Cottonwood Police Department.
