1961: A new home for an AFL team. The Chargers moved from Los Angeles to San Diego. They remained there until 2016, when they moved back to L-A.

1969: A barrage of buckets by this guy. Pete Maravich notched 66 points for LSU. Despite that offensive outburst, the Tigers lost to Tulane 101–94.

1992: She got the first gold. Bonnie Blair won the first gold medal for the U.S. that year in the 500-meter speed skating event. She would later win another gold medal in the 1,000-meter event.
