Prescott’s water supply remains steady for now—plenty of room left in the 2026 budget for new homes and businesses. As of late February, no residential projects have tapped the 25 acre-feet set aside for January through June, while non-residential approvals used just under one acre-foot. That means more capacity for housing and commercial growth in the coming months.
Water Resources Manager Brian Ruiz told the subcommittee the city is ramping up tracking of real usage versus estimates to catch any surprises early.
The panel also narrowly approved water for a 47-room hotel on Whiskey Row at 5.5 acre-feet—despite a lawsuit in play—meaning that project could move ahead if council agrees.
