1977: A title for the Tar Heels. North Carolina downed Virginia 75-69 in the ACC championship game. UNC made it to the national championship game, where they lost to Marquette.
1982: He wasn’t done yet. Forty-three-year-old Gaylord Perry signed with the Seattle Mariners. He went 10-12 for that season, and notched his 300th career win.
1985: He continued his prolific goal scoring. The New York Islanders’ Mike Bossy became the first player in NHL history to notch 50 goals in eight straight seasons. He would end the season with 58 goals.
