1954: Starting off with a bang. NC State outlasted Wake Forest 82-80 in overtime in the very first ACC men’s basketball championship game. The Wolfpack ended up finishing third in the East Region tournament.
1982: A nail-biter for the title. Alabama topped Kentucky 48-46 to win the SEC men’s basketball championship. It was the first time the Crimson Tide had won the tournament since 1934.
1982: So much scoring. San Antonio bested Milwaukee 171-166 in triple-overtime in the NBA’s highest scoring game ever. George Gervin tallied 50 points for the Spurs.
