YCCHS Reports Major Frozen Food Recall

Ajinomoto Foods North America is expanding a massive recall of frozen meal products over possible glass contamination.

Yavapai County Community Health Services reports the Oregon-based company is recalling about 33.6 million additional pounds of ready-to-eat and not-ready-to-eat chicken and pork products. They include various frozen fried rice, ramen, and shu mai dumplings sold under several brand names, including Kroger and Trader Joe’s. The items were produced between October 2024 and February 2026 and shipped to retail stores nationwide.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the recall was triggered after consumers reported finding pieces of glass in some products. Investigators believe the source may be contaminated carrots used as an ingredient.

No injuries have been reported. Consumers are urged to either throw out these products or return them to the store for a refund.
