Hazardous Household Waste Collection Underway in Prescott

The City of Prescott is currently hosting its household hazardous waste pickup for residential trash customers. The event runs until March 27th and allows residents an opportunity to safely dispose of household substances that are not safe to put in the trash. City officials say commercial customers and communities utilizing dumpsters are not eligible.

Accepted items include pesticides, gasoline, car batteries, cleaners, oil-based paints and stains, latex paints, adhesives, lithium batteries, and other items. City officials say if a resident is unsure if a substance or item qualifies, they can use the Recycle Wizard feature on the city website. Quantity limits do apply.

Pre-registration is required, and items must be boxed and labeled HHW. Residents should place the items 6 to 10 feet from the curb on their scheduled pickup day.
