PHS Baseball Vanquishes Deer Valley

One big inning was all they needed. The Prescott baseball team began the week with a trip to Glendale Monday to take on Deer Valley. The Badgers’ offense picked up where it left off Friday when they run-ruled Greenway 10–0. Prescott exploded for nine runs in the second inning, then tacked on an additional run in the sixth inning to upend the Skyhawks 10–2.

Kaden Lampe homered and drove in two runs for the Badgers. Matt Hepperle had two doubles and two RBIs. He also fanned five coming out of the bullpen. William Horn drove in two runs. Travis Gates was the winning pitcher, striking out five.

That puts Prescott’s record at 4–3 on the season. They are off until this Saturday when they host Grand Canyon Region rival Mohave in a doubleheader. The Badgers are home again next Monday versus Ironwood.
