Local scoreboard from yesterday: The Chino Valley softball team fell to Desert Heights Prep 8–6. McKenzie Casner tripled, drove in two runs, and scored two runs.
Alumni update time. Former Prescott track and field athlete Violet Williams qualified for nationals in her first year of college. She will compete in the long jump for the Colorado School of Mines at the NCAA II National Indoor Meet in Virginia Beach Friday and Saturday.
Two Embry-Riddle ballplayers snagged weekly honors from the GSAC. Baseball’s Carson Stoller was named the conference pitcher of the week for his complete-game 4–1 win over Park. Claire Streeter was the conference pitcher of the week for softball for going 4–0 with 35 strikeouts at the Tucson Games.
