1942: He almost became part of the White Sox. Jackie Robinson had a tryout with the team in Pasadena, California. While praised for his talents, Robinson did not receive a contract.

1953: They dethroned the champs. The Indiana men’s basketball team edged out Kansas 69–68 in the national title game. It was the Hoosiers’ second naty.

1981: Talk about an explosive start. Buffalo recorded nine goals in the first period. They ultimately went on to crush Toronto 14–4.
