The driver accused of hitting and killing a 14-year-old boy in Prescott Valley is now facing a more serious charge.
Court records show a new indictment has been filed against Daniel Jones, upgrading the case to second-degree murder. Police say Jones was driving under the influence when he fatally struck Gabriel Grande on Viewpoint Drive in November 2024.
When he was first arrested, Jones faced charges of manslaughter and DUI. The new indictment significantly increases the potential penalties if he is convicted.
