A Prescott police dog has made Arizona history.
K-9 Bob and his handler, Officer Luke, have become the first team in Arizona to earn trailing certification through the International Police Work Dog Association — a distinction that puts them among an elite tier of tracking and trailing K-9 units nationwide.
The certification required K-9 Bob to follow a scent trail set one hour earlier across a one-and-a-half mile course featuring three turns and roughly 500 feet of roadway — testing both the dog’s scent commitment and Officer Luke’s ability to read and communicate with his partner under pressure.
