The world’s oldest rodeo is shining a spotlight on one of its own.
Prescott Frontier Days has recognized Yvonne Gibbs as an outstanding volunteer, highlighting eight years of contributions that range from founding the junior ambassador program to managing social media outreach across 15 groups, writing weekly rodeo articles, and developing organizational tools still in use today.
Gibbs, a retired NASA technical editor who relocated to Prescott full-time in 2018, also played a key role in securing the 2025 Massey Ferguson Sowing Good Deeds Award for Prescott Frontier Days — a nationally competitive honor the organization had pursued for five years.
General manager Jim Dewey Brown said Gibbs doesn’t just support the rodeo — she helps shape its future.
