Tri-city area residents with drones may not be able to fly them over events like the Prescott frontier days rodeo should this piece of legislation become law. The Arizona house gave the okay to a bill that would restrict the flying of drones close to entertainment events. Senate bill 1160 specifies a drone is too close if they are within 52-hundred-80 feet of a ticketed entertainment event. House majority leader Richard Carbone (car-bone) argued his amendment aims to prevent spying on people…
But opposing house republican Alexander Kolodin says the bill could criminalize people with no ill intent if their drones get too close to an event’s restricted zone. The bill could lift drone restrictions in cases when someone with legal authority over an event gives their approval. The bill now returns to the state senate.
