The Doce Pit area north of Prescott will be temporarily closed under a new order from the Bradshaw Ranger District of Prescott National Forest. Officials with the Forest Service say National Forest Road 9271A and the Doce Pit area will be closed to entry and recreational shooting starting Monday.
The action is being taken to protect public health and safety during livestock gathering operations and to reduce risks linked to shooting activity. The closure remains in effect until May 19th.
Forest users are urged to make other plans and follow all posted signs and barriers. Officials warn that violating the order is a Class B misdemeanor and could bring fines, jail time, or both.
