It was all Central Arizona in game one of Tuesday’s doubleheader. The Lady Vaqueros handcuffed the offense of the Yavapai College baseball team and beat them 7-1. The Lady Riders’ only run came on an RBI sac fly by Kayley Gibb. YC managed six hits in the game.
In the second game, Avree Rhodes kicked off the proceedings with a solo shot in the top of the first. Central, however, tied it in the bottom of the frame. Yavapai put up two runs in the top of the third and shut out the Lady Vaqueros until the seventh inning. Central Arizona got one run, but no more as YC held on for the 3-2 victory. The Lady Riders used three pitchers in game two. Rhodes had two RBIs in the game and Gibb got her second RBI of the day.
Yavapai College is 19-28 on the season. They remain on the road for a series at Southern Nevada Friday and Saturday.
