On Monday, the Prescott softball team simply took Mingus to the woodshed. Wednesday was no different as the two teams met again, this time on the Lady Badgers’ home field. While the Lady Marauders did strike for three runs in the top of the first, Prescott started a conga line around the base paths that lasted all game long. Mingus managed just one more run the rest of the day as the Lady Badgers schooled them 17-4.
Huge day for freshman Amilya Zahn as she drove in six runs. Lilly James had four RBIs and was a home run away from the cycle. Mariah Smolniker did have a home run, along with three RBIs. Kaylin Pinarelli drove in two runs. Madison Ballou was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts.
The win puts Prescott’s record at 15-9 on the season. They are back in action Friday when they travel to Mohave.
