Big changes coming to how you can access Slide Rock State Park in Sedona.
Park manager Sam Axford says starting May 1st, vehicles will not be able to line up on Highway 89A and wait for an open parking spot:
Axford says in the lot with 156 parking spots, when 50 open, they will re-open the gates and allow new entrants. Those who wish to visit the park are encouraged to have a plan “B” in case the gates are closed. Axford says people will not be allowed to wait on the highway prior to the 8 a.m. opening.
Also, from May 1st through September 30th, pets are not allowed in the park.
