More post-season action is on tap for our local teams this week. The 4A Conference boys volleyball tournament begins this week with the state play-in round. Prescott, however, will not be a part of it. They finished in the top eight of the power point rankings, and therefore have earned a bye. They will host an opening round state tournament match on Friday. The Badgers finished with an 18-6 overall record and went undefeated in Black Canyon Region play.
Friday and Saturday, the track and field state meets take place. Prescott and Bradshaw Mountain compete in the Division III meet, with the Prescott girls going in as the defending state champions. Chino Valley is involved in the Division IV state meet. Both of those meets take place at Shadow Mountain High School. Meanwhile, Mayer will compete in the Division V state meet at Red Mountain High School.
