1904: Baseball’s best pitcher was perfect. Cy Young threw a perfect game in the Boston Americans’ 3-0 victory over the Philadelphia A’s. It is considered the first perfect game of MLB’s modern era.
1938: A game this pitcher would like to forget. The Phillies’ Harold Kelleher faced 16 batters in the sixth inning, and gave up 12 runs to the Cubs. Chicago got the win 21-2.
1966: Another Cup for the Habs. Montreal edged out Detroit 3-2 in overtime in Game Seven of the Stanley Cup Finals to make it back-to-back championships. Henri Richard had the game-winning goal in the extra frame.
