Their first match in the state tournament went the full five. In last night’s Elite Eight match, it was another thriller on the court for the Prescott boys volleyball team. The number six Badgers were in Goodyear to face number three Estrella Foothills. Prescott got off to a rough start by dropping the first set to the Wolves 25-17. The Badgers then were victorious in the next two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-23. Set four went the way of Estrella Foothills 25-17. That brought about the fifth and deciding set, where both sides kept trading points. In the end, the Badgers came out on top 25-23 to take the match 3-2.
Jack Golleher notched 18 kills. Eli Buettner recorded 15 kills. Trace Thein garnered 12 kills. Arwinn Heartisan served five aces, and Seth Peterson registered nine blocks.
Prescott is at number two ALA Queen Creek for the Final Four of state tomorrow.
