Blackstone Products is recalling select lots of its Parmesan Ranch Seasoning over possible salmonella contamination. According to Yavapai County Community Health Services, the recall stems from a dry milk powder ingredient linked to a separate California Dairies recall. The affected seasoning was sold nationwide at Wal-Mart stores and through the Blackstone Products website. No illnesses have been reported.
Salmonella can cause serious infections, especially in young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
The recall involves Blackstone Parmesan Ranch Seasoning, 7.3-ounce containers. Consumers are urged not to use the product and to throw it away immediately.
